About Train Party
In the beginning...
It all started in 1995 with a few phone calls from the TrainWeb.com site visitors inquiring about children's train-themed birthday party items. We started researching the availability of online resources dedicated to train party items and soon realized the scarcity. That sparked the idea of creating a centralized online specialty shop for train-themed party supplies, toys, favors and gifts.
On February 07, 2003, TrainWeb, LLC purchased the new domain www.TrainParty.com and launched our new train-themed birthday party supply online store. TrainParty.com was born!
Expansion into Manufacturing and Retail Store...
On August 1, 2005, we opened our first retail store in Fullerton, CA. Our need for more inventory space had grown in less than a year and we could see the need for more warehouse space in the future. We also realized that we could save on shipping costs and provide exceptional speed of delivery if we were more centrally located in the U.S.
On August 21, 2006, TrainParty.com moved to the town of La Plata, MO. The company purchased land and two warehouse buildings in this small northeast Missouri community. We then became a manufacturer for three exclusive train-themed party supply lines: Little Chug, Whistle Stop and Officially licensed Amtrak Train.
Now Family Owned and Operated...
Steve and Nena Xander invested into Trainparty.com in February of 2020 after being inspired by our 4-year old son Zackary's love of trains. Then, on April 3, 2021, we took complete ownership of Trainparty.com and moved the main operations to our home 5 miles east of Kirksville, MO. We have since moved all business, warehousing, and shipping operations to our home and new warehouse located on our 5 acres of land. Plans are in development for a small event space for rental with a trackless train and added children attractions. We now have a little princess engineer, who has taken interest in trains with big brother, inspiring us to expand into more items for girls. Our goal is to deliver smiles and fun to kids of all ages and to help you make your next train-party hassle free and memorable for everyone!
